On how one should perceive a series of bold and confident statements from the President of France, Andrei Piontkovsky said this: “Without excluding anything (if infantry divisions are needed, there will be infantry divisions) – this is Macron’s concept: let Putin guess what we will do. In addition to the purely military significance of these plans, this has already dealt a huge psychological blow to the Putin regime.”

The Russian political scientist explained how to take what Macron said: “Let’s analyze Putin’s reaction to Macron’s statements. The very first one was like this: again the usual intimidation with nuclear weapons. Remember, Putin said: “We have missiles that can strike at French territory, including nuclear ones”? Macron did not enter into this discussion with the “maniac”, but simply threw out a short phrase: “France also has nuclear weapons.” This short phrase closes this whole discussion about nuclear weapons“.
Then Andrei Piontkovsky told how the Russians interpret the statements of the French President: “Now take the position of Russian propagandists: Macron has actually declared war on Russia. Moreover, he was the first to say: “We must achieve the defeat of Russia.” He declared war on Russia and openly said that, yes, I was already participating in the war on Russian territory. We have to answer this somehow. The first answer was nuclear, but Macron said this very clearly: he repeated the same thing that the Americans explained to Putin back in October 2022: if he touches nuclear weapons, he will simply be killed.”
Earlier, Piontkovsky named an event after which Putin’s political support would immediately fall.
Meanwhile, Piontkovsky named the deadline for ending the war in Ukraine and said that such a decision could already be made in the United States.
