“The war is far from over, but I can say today that one thing is clear: Ukraine will not be conquered,” Macron said in response to journalists’ questions in Bratislava, the Slovak capital, about the current state of war. AnadoluWednesday (31/5/2023).
Earlier, Macron delivered a closing speech at the GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum, where he condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
“The so-called ‘special operations’ a year ago resulted in a geopolitical failure,” he said.
The French president also noted that Russia lacks credibility on the ground.
However, Macron acknowledged that Europe lacks a coherent and organized response to aggression.
But he praised NATO’s strength, noting that he awakened the brain dead alliance in 2019 and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin did the same with NATO “through the worst electric shocks”, referring to the war that was launched in February last year.
The French president also vowed that Europe would continue to support Kiev.
