Kylian Mbappe has decided to stay in Paris Saint Germain. French President Emmanuel Macron admitted to having spoken to Mbappe before the decision was made.
The future saga of the French football superstar is finally over. Mbappe chose to renew his contract with Les Parisiens for the next three years, while canceling his move to Paris Real Madrid.
Though Mbappe was believed to be costumed Madrid next season. The whites have been hunting for Mbappe for a long time and have been in constant contact with the player’s representatives throughout last season.
Macron apparently had a small hand in Mbappe’s decision. Macron revealed that he advised the 2018 World Cup winner to stay at PSG.
“Yes, it’s true that I had a conversation with Kylian Mbappe before he makes a firm decision about his future,” Macron was quoted as saying Brand.
“In that conversation, I simply advised him, informally, to stay in France. I believe it is my responsibility, as president, to defend the country when asked in an informal and friendly manner.”
Mbappe’s decision was not accepted by most Real Madrid supporters. Mbappe was even ridiculed after Madrid successfully won their 14th Champions League title, after beating Liverpool in the final, which was held in Paris.
“I never interfere in any transfer process. Like the general population, when it comes to sports, I always want to watch a good game and support a team, especially for me, Olympique Marseille,” Macron straightforwardly discussed the saga Kylian Mbappe.
