French President Emmanuel Macron left the EU summit in Brussels on June 30.

In addition, he canceled a press conference previously planned following the event.

The reason is the ongoing unrest in France, accompanied by clashes with the police, arson of buildings and cars, robberies of shops.

Previously, the media reported that Macron should lead the meeting of the crisis headquarters for the same reason.

And his compatriots have been rampaging since the moment it became known about the murder of a 17-year-old driver by a police officer who did not obey the requirements of a road patrol.

How informs TASS agency, citing the BFM TV channel, in such cases – the absence of Macron at the EU summits – the French leader is replaced by the German Chancellor.

We add that, according to the head of the French Interior Ministry, during the riots on June 29 and on the night of June 30, 667 people were detained.

Media reports that only on the night of June 29 in France, protesters burned several dozen police cars, they also set fire to commissariats, buildings of administrative bodies, and educational institutions.

On the night of June 30, about 40,000 police officers were deployed to quell the riots.

In some French cities, special forces patrol the streets, armored vehicles and helicopters are used.

Delegate Minister for Housing Olivier Klein said the president could declare a state of emergency.
