Details: According to a description of Macron’s responses cited by the BBC, the French president noted that it is the responsibility of France and all states to support Ukraine in its defense from Russian aggression.

“But he also said the next month would be critical as Ukraine tries to recapture lost ground in counter-offensives,” the BBC report states.

Macron noted that allowing Russia to win the war “will give you a new imperial power” in Europe that could threaten other former Soviet states such as Georgia and Kazakhstan, as well as the entire continent.

“Because, of course, this is imperialism and colonialism that Russia is carrying out (in Ukraine),” Macron said.

Regarding the prospects for peace negotiations with the Russian Federation, the French President noted that the time may come for “honest and good negotiations, returning to the negotiating table and finding a solution with Russia.”

However, according to him, “the time has not yet come” for Ukraine to sit down at such a negotiating table.

Ukraine, Macron emphasized, must itself make a decision regarding potential negotiations with the Russian Federation.

What preceded: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny believes that the war with Russia is moving to a new stage: a “positional” fight against static and exhausting battles. To win it, you need high technology.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he expects the Ukrainian Armed Forces to make progress in the fight against Russian occupiers, but warns that “we must prepare for a long journey.”
