BOLASPORT.COM – Tournament French Open 2021 which took place in Paris, France, on October 26-31 2021, slightly lost prestige following the elimination of the three seeded players in the men’s singles number.
Besides Viktor Axelsen who is second in line, Anders Antonsen (third seed) and Lee Zii Jia (seventh seed) also could not continue their work in the BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament.
Axelsen (Denmark) decided to resign alias retired while winning 1-0 over Heo Kwang-hee (South Korea) in the first game of the first round, while his compatriot, Antonsen, fell to a non-seeded representative from Hong Kong, Lee Cheuk Yiu.
Antonsen lost 19-21, 19-21.
Meanwhile, Lee Zii Jia, surprisingly lost to Singapore’s non-seeded representative, Loh Kean Yew.
Like Antonsen, the 2021 All England Open champion lost two straight games aka straight game, with a score of 22-24, 14-21.
