The French Navy frigate Alsace was able to launch a new generation anti-ship missile Exocet Mer-Mer 40 Block 3c. This was reported by MBDA.
What is known
The Mer-Mer 40 Block 3c or MM40 B3c is the most advanced anti-ship missile in the Exocet family. It can be integrated onto a variety of platforms, including submarines, surface ships, aircraft, helicopters and coastal launch systems.
The new generation missile received a digital active radar homing head manufactured by Thales. It is characterized by increased resistance to electronic warfare systems due to the integration of coherent radar processing.
MBDA did not stop development and began working on improving the anti-ship missile immediately after the announcement. This allowed Exocet to adapt to new conditions while maintaining all-weather capabilities. The company calls the MM40 B3c version a response to emerging threats.
