French National Assembly Delegation Visits Ukraine for the 4th Time Since War’s Start

Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade, president of the European Affairs Commission of the French National Assembly, visited Ukraine for the 4th time since the start of the war.

During this visit, he was accompanied by his office, the vice-presidents of the Commission for European Affairs, Charles Sitzenstuhl, Pierre-Henri Dumont and Frederic Petit, representatives of different political parties in the National Assembly.

The delegation visited Kiev at an essential moment for Ukraine’s path towards European integration: the European Commission published a report on November 8 recommending to the European Council the opening of accession negotiations.

The trip by Mr. Anglade and his office demonstrated France’s firm and resolute commitment to continuing its support for Ukraine on its path to integration and in its reconstruction efforts.

The delegation held numerous and rich discussions with the various Ukrainian political authorities. On the one hand with the members of the Rada, Mr. Oleksandr Korniïenko, 1st Vice-President of the Verkhovna Rada, with the members of the Commission responsible for European integration chaired by Ms. Ivanna Klympouch-Tsintsadzé, with Mr. Dmytro Natalukha , Chairman of the Commission for Economic Development, Ms. Oleksandra Ustinova, Chairman of the Temporary Special Commission on Control of Receipt and Use of International Material and Technical Assistance During Martial Law and Mr. Oleksandr Zavitnevych, Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Services. On the other hand, with members of the government, including Mr. Ihor Jovkva, diplomatic advisor to the President of the Republic of Ukraine, Mr. Mykola Totchytskyi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, MM Youri Djiguir and Stanislav Haider, Deputy Ministers Ukrainians of Defense, Mr. Serhy Derkatch, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Oleksiy Sobolev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Mr. Oleksandr Ilkov, Director General of the Government Office for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration .

The members of the delegation paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust by gunfire in Babi Yar as well as to all those who have died for Ukraine’s freedom since the start of the war in 2014 at the Wall of Heroes on the Mykhaivska Square.
