French Montana, who recently assured that he has definitely turned his back on drug and alcohol consumption, is raising awareness about drug addiction, especially in the hip hop world, his hobbyhorse. In 2019, the rapper was admitted to a San Fernando Valley hospital following acute heart problems, stomach aches and nausea caused by his alcohol and drug addiction.

The interpreter of Coke Boys 2 wants to help raise awareness about opioids. Armed with that commitment, he traveled to Capitol Hill where he spoke with lawmakers in 13 meetings on how he can maximize his platform to help raise awareness of pressing issues, including drug addiction in the middle of American showbiz. Among the officials we met was Senator Tim Scott.
In a declaration to the site The Hill, Mike Rubino, a representative of French Montana said that the rapper had come to Capitol Hill to talk about the opioid epidemic raging in the country, and particularly disproportionately affecting the African-American community. He added that he spoke “very frankly about his own sobriety”.

Another subject discussed: immigration. “He went through the whole process and just thinks that there is a heavy burden on people who want to do things the right way and that it is too long a process,” Mike says, adding that French Montana has makes a plea in this direction.
