Chelsea hamstring surgery … ‘4 months’ out
Midfielder of the French national football team N’Golo Kante (31) did not participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to an injury.
On the 19th (now Korean), Kante’s club Chelsea, England’s professional football team, announced on their website that Kante had undergone hamstring surgery due to an injury.
Chelsea said: “After Kante and the club’s medical team visited a specialist and discussed ways to recover from the injury, an agreement was reached on the direction of the surgery.
The departure of Kante, who has played 242 competitive matches (12 goals) for Chelsea since 2016, should put a heavy burden on Chelsea.
Even at the age of 30, Kante energized Chelsea midfield with his vigorous activity.
The French national team suffered bad news by losing a key midfielder just a month from the end of the World Cup in Qatar.
Although there are many young and talented midfielders like Aurelian Chuameni and Yusuf Popana, the experience of Kante, who played a fundamental role in winning the 2018 World Cup in Russia, is an irreplaceable resource.
This was effectively his last World Cup stop in Qatar, as Kante will turn 35 in 2026 when the World Cup is held in North and Central America.
