Reference News Network reported Dec. 12 that a man killed three women and injured four in Rome on Dec. 11, possibly over a housing dispute, police said.

Italian Prime Minister Meloni revealed in a Facebook post on the evening of the 11th that one of the victims was a friend of his.

The 57-year-old suspect, Claudio Campi, reportedly used a Clark pistol stolen from a shooting range and opened fire during a gathering of residents of his apartment building in a neighborhood north of Rome.

In November, he reportedly published a post on his blog detailing his conflicts with those running the building, whom he accused of trying to force him out of his residence.

One of the three women who died from their injuries was Nicoletta Golisano, 50, who had a 10-year-old son and was present at the meeting as an accountant, the report said.

Meloni revealed on Facebook that she was a friend and paid tribute to “a caring mother, a genuine and caring friend, a strong and vulnerable woman”.

He said the killer was arrested and said he hoped “justice will be done as soon as possible”.
