“French Judge Issues International Arrest Warrant for Lebanon’s Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh”

Pierre-Olivier Sur, the French legal representative to the Governor of the Banque du Liban, Riad Salameh, confirmed, in an interview with Al-Jadeed, that “the prosecution and the arrest warrant were informed by the media and not through the legal frameworks.”

And the French investigating judge, Aud Bourazi, had issued an international arrest warrant against the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, after he failed to appear for the interrogation session that was scheduled for today.

The French judge had summoned Salama for interrogation in light of a possible indictment. His lawyer told “Agence France Presse”: “He did not appear because he was summoned for interrogation was not in accordance with the rules, knowing that the travel ban against him was lifted to facilitate his appearance before the French courts.”
