Rádio RMC Sport says that the Benfica forward intends to play in the Champions League
Darwin Núñez continues to be one of the great shakers of the market that has not officially opened yet. The Benfica forward has a clause of 150 million euros but the European ‘sharks’ want to sign him for a lower price. There are two clubs in England that would be interested in the Uruguayan forward but were ‘barred’ by the player’s wishes, according to French radio RMC Sport. Newcastle and Manchester United would aim to move towards the signing of the 22-year-old footballer, but the 22-year-old has already made it clear that he only wants to play for clubs that are in the Champions League. Well, both the magpies and the red devils will miss the UEFA millionaire league. In England, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are assured of their presence in next season’s Champions League. Tottenham and Arsenal are still fighting, on the last day of the Premier League, for a place. According to the same source, the emblem of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Dalot would be willing to pay 80 million euros.
Paris Saint-Germain is one of the clubs that remains interested in Darwin – who Benfica signed from Almería in 2020 – but there are still ongoing negotiations for the striker who in 2021/22 scored 34 goals in 41 official games.
