She had disappeared the day before during her run, which she usually started around 4:00 PM. The data from her GPS watch and her phone showed that she had already stopped after one kilometer, while her regular lap is about five kilometers long.
bloodstains
The watch, her phone and her earphones were recovered by her father a short time later. The items showed bloodstains and he immediately alerted the police, after which a large-scale search was launched.
For this purpose, dogs, horses and a helicopter were used in the wooded area, plus a team that searched the water. The place where the girl turned up a day later, Sablé-sur-Sarthe, is less than 10 kilometers from the search area (map: see below).

Yesterday she is direct interrogated by the French police, writes the newspaper Le Parisien. The police are said to be looking for two suspects and are working, with the help of the victim, to reconstruct the period between her disappearance and the moment she reported to the restaurant.
An eyewitness says she got out of a car there. A little earlier, the French Public Prosecutor’s Office had made it clear during a press conference that the punishment for the possible kidnapper(s) would be lighter if they released the victim quickly.
Family relieved
The girl’s family reacted with relief last night after she came forward, a spokesman for the French Public Prosecution Service said.
Initially, the investigation focused on an acquaintance of the police who regularly called the emergency services on Monday evening to ask how the search was going. When police came to question him at home, he made conflicting statements and was found to be intoxicated. He was released this morning after spending the night in the police cell.
