French film stars Omar Sy and Eva Green to serve on Cannes Film Festival jury, chaired by Greta Gerwig

French film stars Omar Sy and Eva Green will take part in jury work at next month’s Cannes Film Festival, organizers announced on Monday.

The jury will also include Oscar-nominated American actress Lily Gladstone, who has received several awards for her role in Martin Scorsese’s 2023 film “Killers of the Flower Moon”.

The 37-year-old actress is the youngest member of the jury.

Greta Gerwig, the director of the film “Barbie”, will be the chairman of the jury of the upcoming festival from 14 to 25 May.

The jury has to choose a work from among the 22 films of the main presentation of the competition, which will receive the highest prize of the festival – the Golden Palm branch.

Among the films in competition screening are the long-awaited work by Francis Ford Coppola “Megalopolis” (“Megapolis”) and the film of director Ali Abbasi, born in Iran, “The Apprentice” ( “The Apprentice”) – a biographical drama about the life of Donald Trump. .

Sy is one of the biggest names in French cinema today and is internationally known for his role in the Netflix series Lupin.

Among Green’s most famous works is the role of Vesper Linda in the 2006 James Bond film “Casino Royale”. She has also appeared in several other Hollywood blockbusters.
