Suspected of having participated in the organization of the kidnapping of little Mia, Rémy Daillet was arrested on May 29 in Malaysia where he resides. His residence permit, a tourist visa, had expired.
He had since been detained with his pregnant partner and their three children aged 17, 9 and 2. They were handed over, this Sunday, June 13, to the French authorities and expelled from the country. “They took a commercial flight to Changi Airport in Singapore with an enhanced security escort”, a source told AFP. They must then take a flight to Paris where they are expected Monday morning.

A figure from the French-speaking conspiracy sphere
Remy Daillet is the son of the former UDF deputy of Manche Jean-Marie Daillet. He also had a political commitment since he was elected in 2008 at the head of the Modem of Haute-Garonne, before being excluded in 2010.
Residing in Malaysia for several years, he has become an important figure in the French-speaking conspiracy sphere. In October 2020, he posted a video on YouTube, since deleted, calling for a coup. On his blog, he notes a sacked France and presents a slew of measures to implement his project.
Some of his ideas are close to the far right and he is very involved in home school matters. He is also very critical of the placements of children, many of whom would be abusive, according to him.
To the media, Rémy Daillet had estimated that Mia’s kidnapping was not a kidnapping but a return of a child to his mother at his request. However, he refused to specify his degree of involvement in the affair.
