A Franco-Canadian was sentenced Thursday to nearly 22 years in prison in the United States for having sent a poisoned letter to Donald Trump at the White House in 2020, announced the American justice.
Pascale Ferrier, 56, pleaded guilty in January in federal court in Washington to “violations of biological weapons rules”. The sentence corresponds to the 262 months in prison provided for in his agreement with the prosecution. The court will also order his deportation at the end of his sentence, the justice ministry said in a statement.

She admitted to making ricin, a potentially deadly poison, in her Quebec home in September 2020 and placing it in threatening letters to the then President of the United States and eight officials in Texas (south ). According to the court filing, the letter, which had been intercepted at the White House mail sorting center, called Donald Trump an “ugly tyrannical clown”.
“Give up, do not run for this election”, during which the Republican was a candidate for a second term, she added, before stressing that she had slipped into the letter “a special gift” to “help” him decide. .
She had also threatened employees of the Texas prison and police system she believed responsible for her incarceration, for about two months in 2019, for illegal possession of firearms. After posting her threatening letters in Canada, she drove to the United States where she was arrested by border guards in possession of a loaded weapon and numerous ammunition.
