The Azuréenne won the silver medal behind Rennaise Shana Grebo, victorious with a new record (56”84).
Seri pulled out the big game at the right time and completed her record with a second medal in the Elite, after her 3rd place in 2019. With this result, she obtained her ticket for the Euro Espoirs de Tallinn (Estonia, 8-11 next July).
“It’s a magical moment, I didn’t think I would be able to set such a time, especially since the preparation was difficult between training and my midwifery studies. I’m really happy”she breathed, exhausted by the turn of events.
Sacha Alessandrini fifth in the 100m hurdles
Sacha Alessandrini was the other Niçoise on the track this Sunday.
La Maralpine finished the 100m hurdles in fifth place. With her lap times (13”16 in the series and 13”14 in the final), the 2019 French indoor champion in the 60m hurdles approached her record (13”05), achieved on June 5 at home.
Serious during the series (fourth time), the hurdler failed to sublimate in the final. After her effort, she wanted to be marked.
“It’s hard to take, I was hoping for a podium. My race is nevertheless correct but it was not enough”, she lamented.
The Niçois completed these French championships with five medals. Frédéric Dagée (weight) and Margot Chevrier (pole vault) come back with gold. Camille Seri (400m hurdles) and Alessia Zarbo (5,000m) pocketed the money. Finally, Lenny Brisseault was adorned with bronze (javelin).
