French and Malian army kill 30 terrorists in West Africa

During operations by the French and Malian army in the Sahel region, at least 30 Muslim extremists were killed last week, the French army reports. The attacks were in the border region of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, where various terror movements are taking place.

Twenty extremists were killed in drone attacks, another ten in two command operations. No victims were reported on the French or Malian side.

France has been fighting in the region since 2014 against terror groups affiliated with al-Qaeda and IS. Recently the country announced 600 additional soldiers to broadcast. This brings the total number of French to 5100.

The Netherlands was also present in Mali for six years. That mission ended last year.
