“The proliferation of crises will in no way weaken French and European support for Ukraine, which will be maintained as long as necessary,” Macron told Zelenskiy in a phone call, according to a statement from the Elysee Palace.
The two leaders have talked about strengthening Ukraine’s military capabilities ahead of a possible bombing campaign that Russia could launch in the winter.
Ukraine predicts that Russia could launch attacks on critical infrastructure in the coming months, similar to last winter, when Russian strikes left millions of Ukrainians without electricity.
Macron and Zelensky have also discussed plans to create a Black Sea corridor for grain exports, which Ukraine wants to establish despite the Russian blockade.
