French actor Michel Bouquet has died

Michel Bouquet studied at the Paris Conservatory and made his theater debut in 1945 with Gérard Philip in Caligula.

He first appeared in the film in the drama White Leggings in 1949, but for a long time he remained mainly a theater actor. A native of Paris, he became famous mainly in the 1960s and 1970s, when he starred in films such as The Unfaithful Woman, Borsalino, The Assassination in Paris, Two Men in the City and Toy.

By the 1990s, his fame was waning, but he occasionally starred in films (such as the drama Elisa with Vanessa Paradis).

He last stood in front of the camera in 2020, when Bernard Stora shot the drama Villa Caprice.

Bouquet received the Order of the Legion of Honor and also the Molière Prize for theatrical work.
