The 32-year-old Latvian striker was attached to the team because the Belgian Maksims de Zēvs asked to terminate the contract for personal reasons and both parties agreed to terminate the cooperation.
Freimanis spent the previous season on another Polish team in Wloclawek “Anwil”, scoring 10.8 points on average in a local championship and winning 4.4 rebounds. In the FIBA Champions League, he scored an average of 12.7 points in one duel and won 4.4 balls under the baskets.
Freiman has had a rich club career. He has previously represented Ifestos (Greece), Gaziantep, Muratbey (both in Turkey), Kalev / Cramo in Tallinn (Estonia), Unics in Kazan (Russia), Himik in Yuzhn ( Ukraine), Montegranaro “Sutor” (Italy), San Sebastian’s “Lagun Aro”, Seville’s “Cajasol” farm clubs “Cajasol Cordoba”, “Girona” and Veskas “Lobe” (all – Spain).
In the beginning of his career, Freimanis played in the Latvian teams “ASK Rīga” and “VEF Rīga”, representing the second of them also at the beginning of the 2017/2018 season.
Freimanis has participated in four European Championship finals with the national team.
In Poland, the championship ended prematurely in mid-March due to a coronavirus pandemic, with Stelmet Enea winning the title. The unit represented by Latvians has started the season of the Polish championship with five victories in five games, but in the United League it has given way in both fights so far.
