Freiburg: Theater Freiburg will stop regular performances up to and including January 14, 2021 – timely information about planned programs from January 15 and the possibility of ticket reservations

On Wednesday, the federal and state governments decided to extend the measures to contain the pandemic until at least December 20, 2020. This also affects the performance of the Freiburg Theater. Since we have to reckon that the measures taken at the federal-state summit will be extended at short notice beyond December 20, 2020, the Freiburg Theater has decided in consultation with almost all municipal theaters in Baden-Württemberg to suspend regular performance up to and including January 14. To be discontinued in 2021.

As one of the largest cultural institutions in the city, we take our responsibility seriously to support the political decisions made.

The decision of the Freiburg Theater to suspend performance until January 14th, 2021 has been coordinated with the Mayor of Culture of the City of Freiburg, Ulrich von Kirchbach. The city’s theater committee has been informed of the developments.

We hope that the circumstances will enable us to resume regular gaming from January 15, 2021.

At the same time, we would like to be able to count on greater planning security for the next political decision from mid-December. The viable hygiene concepts that the stages have developed in recent months should also be taken into account in political decisions.

In the coming days we will inform the public about the planned program from January 15, 2021 as well as about the possibility of ticket reservations.
