In the 2021 financial year, Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau paid out the largest amount of public development loans of all savings banks in Baden-Württemberg. The Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) has now awarded her the prize for the largest financing volume and the title “Premium Partner Förderberatung 2021” for her successful advice to her customers.
In 2021, the Sparkasse was able to pass on more than 260 million euros in public subsidies to 1,030 customers. It has been the market leader in its business area for years and was the most successful of 48 savings banks in Baden-Württemberg in 2021.
The publicly subsidized loans were mainly paid out to companies and commercial customers, thereby strengthening the regional economy. More than 25% of the new loans granted in 2021 were promotional loans. The Sparkasse currently manages a total of around 1,003 million development loans for its customers.
In the area of residential construction, private investors could also be supported, especially with energy-related renovation measures and with the construction or acquisition of energy-efficient new buildings. This area is becoming more and more important and is currently in the public eye, after the KfW 40 funding program for efficient buildings was temporarily stopped in January. The focus with more than 70% is currently on the demand for funding programs with sustainability features.
“Sparkasse Freiburg has been one of the most active funding institutes in Baden-Württemberg for years and will continue to advise its customers with a high level of expertise and inform them about federal and state funding opportunities. First place and the repeated award is proof of the excellent and comprehensive advice given to commercial and private customers on all financing issues,” said Frank Wenz, head of LBBW’s development loan business, when the award was presented at the annual appraisal.
The Sparkassenfinanzgruppe Baden-Württemberg has been the market leader for promotional loans from KfW and L-Bank for corporate and private customers for many years, with a total of EUR 5.2 billion. The Savings Banks thus make an active contribution to regional economic development and support the local “energy transition” with subsidies for climate protection. From the “Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings” alone, more than 2 billion euros were brokered last year, more than any other banking group in Germany.
