At the beginning of March, parents can register their children for secondary schools. Due to the effects of the corona pandemic, the procedure for the coming school year will be different than usual. Instead of going to school in person, this can also be done by email, fax, telephone or, if necessary, via a registration portal. However, the registration will only be valid if the original recommendation for the primary school is available. How the registration is exactly regulated can be found at the individual schools.
In order for parents and children to find out which secondary school is the right one, the “Secondary School Evening” usually takes place, at which more than 70 schools present themselves. The appointment in the concert hall has to be canceled again due to the corona situation. In order to provide orientation, the city of Freiburg has set up a website on which the offers and information on schools are bundled.
In this way a platform was created on which the schools can present themselves. All secondary schools can be found here, and many of the educational institutions have created videos or presentations for the site to introduce themselves. There are also video lectures by the managing school principals.
