The French state wants to finally seal the Stocamine toxic waste dump in Alsace with concrete. The city of Freiburg and the neighboring districts of Emmendingen and Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald support a resolution from Alsace that speaks out against sealing the underground landfill and in favor of salvage – also out of concern for the groundwater in the Upper Rhine Rift.
