For a previously unknown cause, the facade of a single-family house in Freiburg-Opfingen caught fire on Monday morning at around 3:30 a.m. The fire subsequently spread to the roof structure and caused considerable damage.
The residents of the house were able to escape unharmed outside. The amount of the
Damage to property cannot yet be specifically quantified. The fire brigade is currently still working on extinguishing the fire.
The Freiburg-Süd police station has started investigations into the cause of the fire. It will be reported.

Mission report:
Several callers reported to the integrated control center via the Europe-wide emergency number 112 that a fire had broken out on the facade of a single-family house in the Ringweg in Freiburg-Opfingen. The dispatcher immediately alerted the fire brigade to the fire brigade and a department of the volunteer fire brigade.
When the first emergency services arrived, the facade was in full fire and the fire spreads to the roof structure. The residents reported that there were no longer any people in the apartment on fire.
The fire fighting was immediately started with two (extinguishing pipes) C-pipes in the external attack, as well as a C-pipe and a squad with respiratory protection in the internal attack. After extensive extinguishing work, the fire was brought under control.
The building was ventilated by the fire brigade and then handed over to the police.
As a result of the event, the single-family house is temporarily no longer habitable. The Freiburg fire brigade was in action with 14 vehicles and around 35 fire brigade members.
