Freiburg: National alert day on 8 December – siren test at 11 a.m. also in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district

The next national alert day will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2022. On this day, starting at 11 a.m., all siren systems of the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district programmed for test alarm of connected sirens will be activated simultaneously at the district level. In addition, the Federal Office for Civil Protection uses the NINA alert app, Cell-Bradcast or other alert devices such as radio and television to check notifications as part of the national alert day.

In this way, the technical processes in the event of an alarm and also the alarm devices themselves must be checked for their function and for possible weaknesses. The nationwide warning day also aims to inform people in Germany about the warning to the population and to raise awareness of the warnings.

A wealth of information can be found on the district office’s website at www.lkbh.de/warntag, including audio samples for the various siren signals.
