The Freiburg Accordion Orchestra under the direction of Volker Rausenberger, ZMF Prize winner 2014, wants to set an example together with the Argentine singer Josefina Aymonino and the Freiburg double bass player Winfried Holzenkamp. For the hope of freedom and peace. With a music that, thanks to all its nuances, full of energy, powerful, tender and still, is a power-giving source for experiencing the now. The now, the moment, as an example of hope. Tango! Symbol for passion and love for life in its entire range, with all its ups and downs, with all its shades. Tango! A music that knows of its hopelessness. And still keep going. Proud. persistent. Unflinching. For the life-sustaining nevertheless. For the way to freedom.
With this concert, the Freiburg Accordion Orchestra would like to bring some light, strength and courage, especially to the sister city of Lviv, Lemberg, in the face of the terrible war in the Ukraine. Set a sign for peace, togetherness and solidarity.
Josefina Aymonino, the Argentinian singer, is a guest of the Freiburg Orchestra for the third time and has already delighted audiences in Freiburg and the surrounding area in previous concert series. The highlight was certainly your appearance at the Freiburg tent music festival.
The German double bass player Winfried Holzenkamp knows the art of the tango first hand, not least thanks to a long stay in Argentina. The classically trained double bass player expanded his outstanding expertise in this area with in-depth studies in jazz, klezmer and oriental music to a universal understanding of music.
