Freiburg: Ice hockey: Robert Hoffmann is the new head coach of the EHC Freiburg – With the 44-year-old, the wolves present the successor to Peter Russell

Born in Weißwasser, he is anything but a stranger to Breisgau. As a player, the defender was on the ice for a total of two and a half years between 2006 and 2009 wearing the Wolves jersey. Robert Hoffmann is now returning to Ensisheimerstrasse in a new role.

In the coaching business, Hoffmann can look back on four years of experience as an assistant coach for our league competitor from Weißwasser. In addition, he took over the Lausitzer Füchse before the playdowns of the 2017/18 DEL2 season as head coach and successfully led the team to relegation. He has been working in the junior division of the Saxon state capital since 2019 and also joined the EV Landshut coaching team shortly before the 2020 season ended. In the past season he coached the U20 of the Dresdner Eislöwen in the highest German junior league.

Robert Hoffmann is supported in his work by Petr Bares, who will take up a position as a new full-time junior trainer with the Wolves.
