Today the EHC Freiburg announced the coach for the coming season. With Robert Hoffmann, a former player and at the same time the preferred candidate for the position of head coach is returning to Breisgau.
“We are very happy that we were able to sign Robert Hoffmann, our absolute dream candidate. We would like to thank the ESC Dresden, where Robert last trained the youngsters, very much for the release, ”said club president Michael Müller at today’s presentation of the new wolf coach.
“Freiburg tried to help me. I know Freiburg well and felt comfortable there. There are few clubs that give a German coach a chance, ”reported Robert Hoffmann via video stream. “I have a very good impression of the team. The squad is in tact and I am in regular contact with the club regarding the further composition of the squad, ”continued Hoffmann.
“Peter Russell did an excellent job in Freiburg, which I would like to build on,” said the new coach. However, he has his own idea of how he wants the team to play in the future.
In the new season, Hoffmann will work with the newly hired assistant coach Petr Bares. Bares most recently worked at ERC Ingolstadt as a junior trainer and head coach of the DNL team of the Panthers. He is also no stranger to Freiburg. Bares was a member of the wolf squad for three years between 2007 and 2010.
