With the 25-year-old Hagen Kaisler, the Wolves can present another player from the squad of the past season for the DEL2 season 2021/22.
Born in Düsseldorf, he went through all the offspring at his home club on the Rhine and was able to gain first DEL experience with DEG in the 2013/14 season. Via the RB Hockey Juniors in the Alps Hockey League, he came to the EHC Munich in 2018 before the playoffs and was able to celebrate winning the DEL championship here. After further stints in Riessersee (Oberliga Süd) and at the DEL2 opponent from Crimmitschau, he came to Breisgau for the 2020/21 season, where he will now also wear the jersey with the wolf in the next season.
The 184 cm tall defender quickly found his way around the Wolves and established himself as an important part of the EHC defensive. With his presence and intelligent style of play, the right-handed shooter is an important piece of the puzzle in the squad for the coming round.
Head coach Robert Hoffmann: “I’m glad to have a player like Hagen in our ranks. He is a classic stay-at-home defender and has steadily improved over the course of the season. He still has a lot of potential offensively and I am convinced that we will take this next step together. “
Hagen Kaisler said of his contract extension: “I’m really looking forward to playing another year in Freiburg. I feel incredibly at home in the club and in town. So far I have only been able to experience the Wölfe fans as opponents in away games and that’s why I’m all the more happy to finally feel our fans in the hall. We already had a great team last season and I’m looking forward to seeing some of the guys again. “
