Genre: Klezmer
CHOTSCH:
Winfried Holzenkamp – double bass
Robert Dietrich – clarinet
Moise Schmidt – guitar, vocals, narration
The trio Chotsch comes from Freiburg and plays clarinet Robert Dietrich, double bass Winfried Holzenkamp and guitar, vocals, story Moise Schmidt.
It all started with a love of klezmer music. Klezmer is the music of the Jewish culture of Eastern Europe, full of energy and joie de vivre, which was traditionally played at festivals. Chotsch combines this music very experimentally and skillfully with modern musical elements. So they gave Klezmer their own musical signature without taking away its soul. When they play and sing together, the cheerful klezmer dances and the joy and melancholy of the Yiddish songs can be heard and felt at all times.
In addition, there is the very lively, almost clownish lecture of short stories and bizarre texts, the moods of which are repeatedly supported or commented on by the music. Storytelling and music complement each other perfectly.
Over the years, Chotsch has not only won Klezmer fans, but also an audience far beyond.

Here is the idea again:
After an idea and on the initiative of the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau, in cooperation with the FWTM (operator) and Kulturaggregat eV, a possibility was developed to offer us all the finest cultural enjoyment even in these times.
#inFreiburgzuhause is a new online platform through which high-quality events from the Freiburg venues and cultural centers can be experienced live. At home or on the go, on your PC, laptop, iPad or smartphone. With funds from Sparkasse, FWTM, SC Freiburg and other sponsors, an attempt is being made to offer the venues and cultural centers a perspective again in times of reduced contacts and to help them through the crisis. Of course, the #inFreiburgzuhause project also depends on the public. Anyone can support the venues and artists by (voluntarily) purchasing virtual tickets. You too can contribute personally to keeping the diverse cultural landscape alive here.
