Economics and Labor Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut took stock of the subsequent start of the training in Stuttgart today. A statement from Simon Kaiser, Managing Director of Education and Training at the IHK Südlicher Oberrhein:
“The current exceptional situation shows once again the strength and great flexibility of the dual vocational training system. What many do not know: entry into an apprenticeship is basically possible at any time. In our region, too, numerous apprenticeships were successfully filled even after the regular training start last September. And the training commitment of the companies is still very high despite the corona pandemic: the number of training places still clearly exceeds the number of applicants. So the chances of getting an apprenticeship are good! I therefore encourage all those interested in training to make use of the diverse orientation opportunities in our region. There are, despite Corona: for example the digital job information fair (BIM) on May 7th and 8th or an online speed dating for the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, Emmendingen and Freiburg, also planned for May, and much more. “

Model test for the second start of training in Baden-Württemberg – Minister Hoffmeister-Kraut: “Despite the difficult corona situation on the training market, in which many companies are still closed or are struggling with significant sales losses, the subsequent placement in training was successful”
Economics and Labor Minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut took stock of the subsequent start of the apprenticeship today (March 10th) in Stuttgart: “Despite the difficult Corona situation on the apprenticeship market, in which many companies are still closed or are struggling with significant sales shortfalls, the subsequent placement was in training successful. An apprenticeship protects against unemployment, opens up career prospects and secures the company’s need for skilled workers – that’s why training is more important than ever in times of crisis were registered as applicants. More than 500 other young people received their training opportunity in January and February 2021 due to the delayed start. These include 330 additional new contracts in the area of the chambers of industry and commerce as well as around 210 new training contracts in the craft, concluded Hoffmeister-Kraut.
“In view of the extended and tightened lockdown, every apprenticeship relationship is an important success. The offer for a second training start in February 2021, initiated by the partners of the training alliance, also contributed to this. The more than 500 apprenticeships that were also created in January and February are an asset for the companies and for the young people. “
The training contracts concluded at a later date are spread over the whole of Baden-Württemberg and across the whole range of our diverse training occupations. These include apprenticeships in the area of office management, in warehouse and commercial professions, in the SHK area or in the healthcare trades. The variety of training contracts that came into being subsequently means that no independent vocational school classes were formed, as was made possible within the framework of the “model experiment with delayed training start”. Instead, it was possible to integrate the trainees who started later in existing vocational school classes.
Rainer Reichhold, President of the Baden-Württemberg Crafts Day (BWHT): “
For the craft, it is vital that enough young people can be trained. With a lot of commitment, our companies were able to keep the number of new training contracts largely stable during the last pandemic year. In doing so, however, they need every possible support. And so the delayed start of training is also an important measure to secure and strengthen training during these times. Among other things, additional contracts for the new start of training could be concluded with automotive mechatronic engineers, SHK plant mechanics, dental technicians and building cleaners – a nice, colorful mixture. “
“Every apprenticeship contract that comes about under the currently particularly difficult conditions is a great success. Apprenticeships not only offer young people attractive career prospects. At the same time, it is the ideal solution for companies to meet the need for qualified specialists themselves. The IHKs support the companies with great commitment in finding applicants, because there are enough offers nationwide and after Corona, skilled workers will be desperately wanted again, “says BW-IHK Vice President Marjoke Breuning.
