Freiburg currently has the lowest incidence value in Baden-Württemberg – Freiburg

In Freiburg, the seven-day incidence has fallen to 70.1 cases – this is the lowest value in Baden-Württemberg. The health department does not yet see a trend reversal.

With the so-called seven-day incidence, Freiburg had 70.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per week on Wednesday evening, the lowest value of all urban and rural districts in Baden-Württemberg. The national average is currently at an incidence value of 134.4 and thus well above the Freiburg mark. The Pforzheim urban district currently has the highest value in the state with an incidence of 242.1. In southern Baden, the district of Lörrach holds the unwanted top spot with an incidence of 178.8.

The health department has registered the positive Freiburg numbers of the past few days, but does not want to give the all-clear. “We see the development, but also have no precise explanation for it,” says Matthias Fetterer, press spokesman for the district office. The health authority does not yet want to speak of a trend reversal. At the beginning of next week, when two weeks have passed since the beginning of the partial lockdown, a somewhat more stable assessment could be given. On Thursday morning, the health department reported 63 new cases for the Freiburg area: 45 new infections are in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, only 18 in Freiburg. The county had a seven-day incidence of 83.6 on Wednesday evening.

There are currently fewer Covid 19 intensive care patients again

The weekly overview published on Thursday also shows that the number of currently active coronavirus cases in Freiburg has fallen from 538 to 395 compared to the previous week.

The latest interim balance sheet presented on Thursday by the Freiburg clinics and hospitals on the inpatient corona cases is also better than in the previous week. In the previous week, the number of Covid-19 patients treated had doubled to 45. 13 infected people had to be ventilated. Those numbers have now declined. Currently, 35 patients suffering from Covid-19 are being treated as inpatients in the four clinics in the city, nine of them need ventilation. There are currently 16 Covid patients in the university clinic, 9 in the Diakoniekrankenhaus and a total of 10 in St.Josefs and Lorettokrankenhaus.
