Two Romanian citizens aged 30 and 31 and two Germans aged 32 and 35 were tried before a large criminal chamber of the regional court. Some of the defendants are in custody.
A total of 21 acts are pending before the regional court. The accused are each charged with a different number and different assessment of the crimes relating to the sale of drugs in large quantities and partly of receiving stolen goods by commercial gangs.
At the end of 2020, three of the accused would join forces with other perpetrators, who are being prosecuted separately, in order to conduct a lively trade in high-quality motor vehicles obtained by crimes. For this purpose, the vehicles were repeatedly and regularly rented out by a Portuguese car rental or leasing company, then appropriately stolen and subsequently these vehicles were brought to Germany to resell there at a profit.
Two Mercedes vehicles and a Porsche vehicle with fake registration papers are said to have been sold in Germany in January 2021 after rumored to have been stolen in Portugal. In two cases, the vehicles were registered in Offenburg.
Furthermore, by the summer / fall of 2021 at the latest, the accused would engage in brisk drug trafficking in a collaborative effort. Narcotics purchased for profit resale would be stored in the defendants’ apartments in a community in the Ortenau district and in a small town north of Breisgau, as well as in various bunker vehicles. From October 2020 to February 2022, narcotics, particularly marijuana and cocaine, were sold in the greater southern Ortenaukreis area.
