Two open arrest warrants had to be executed against a 24-year-old when he was passing through Freiburg im Breisgau on a long-distance train
the Federal Police was checked. Since the man could not pay the outstanding fines, he now has to serve a 235-day prison sentence.
On Saturday morning (07/30/2022) a 24-year-old Ethiopian national was checked by the joint operational service group (GoD), with German federal police and employees of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, coming from Switzerland on a long-distance train. Since the person could not identify themselves, they had to leave the train in Freiburg im Breisgau together with the GoD patrol.
The man’s fingerprints were checked at the federal police station there. This resulted in two open ones
Arrest warrants against the 24-year-old were to be enforced. He was sentenced twice by German courts to fines totaling 2,495 euros for damage to property. Alternatively, he was threatened with 235 days in prison. In both cases, however, the convict failed to make any payment, which is why he was put out for investigation. Because the wanted person was unable to pay the fines demanded on the spot, he was arrested by the Federal Police and taken to a penal institution to serve the alternative prison sentences.
