At around 10.20 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, the police received an emergency call from an enraged man who had thrown a bottle at a tram near the Okenstraße stop in Freiburg-Herdern.

The man left before the police arrived.

As it turned out later, the man attracted negative attention at around 10.30pm on Sautierstrasse when he knocked over garbage cans and screamed.

Shortly before 11pm, the man showed up in front of a restaurant in Bertoldstrasse / city center, got into a fight with others and was expelled from the place.

At around 11pm, the same man is said to have thrown several bottles at a tram on line 2, also on Bertoldstrasse.

The police search led to the arrest of the man at around 11.10 pm on Rempardstraße near the university’s underground car park.

The police are now looking for witnesses who noticed this person in the Herdern area or in the city centre. The extent to which man has made himself punishable is now being examined.

The arrested man is 32 years old: at the time of the events he was wearing a yellow cap and a dark green jacket.
