The SPD member of the state parliament Gabi Rolland is more than dissatisfied with the current situation of the Breisgau S-Bahn. “With the reopening of the line after electrification, train failures and overcrowding of trains are almost the order of the day”, complained the MP and continued: “This is an imposition for all travelers and especially for commuters”.
Due to these circumstances, Rolland wrote a letter to the Minister of Transport to find out by when the results of the state government’s report on the processing of the current situation can be expected and to request the provision of further electric vehicles, because “there is currently not a single one Electric multiple unit that could be used in the event of a malfunction or failure ”. In addition, the SPD MPs are calling for a connection to the Breisacher Bahn / Kaiserstuhlbahn to be guaranteed in Gottenheim. “The train to Endingen is currently not waiting and that means a waiting time of 25 minutes for connecting travelers. We cannot accept that ”. For Rolland it is clear that if the situation does not improve quickly, the acceptance of public transport will decrease and the situation will be a burden for the environment.
