Attempted fraud tricks occurred yesterday.
An unknown male perpetrator pretended to be a relative when he called. At the start of the call, he engaged the victim in a conversation and pretended to be a nephew. He tried to get money from the injured party to pay an invoice.
After the victim became suspicious, she ended the call.
After asking the relatives, it turned out that it was not the actual nephew.
Fortunately, there was no financial damage here.
Another scam in the form of the so-called grandson trick also occurred yesterday in Titisee-Neustadt. Here, too, an unknown male perpetrator tried to get around 17,000 euros in cash as a supposed grandson.
After the called party denied the total, the stranger ended the call and hung up.

Another attempt to trick grandchildren occurred on the same day in Löffingen. Here, too, an attempt was made to obtain cash in the amount of 7,000 euros by specifying a relationship.
After the called party informed the caller that they did not have such a large amount of money, the caller hung up.
A few hours earlier, the same perpetrator probably tried to get cash in the amount of 12,000 euros on a phone call in Löffingen, specifying that he was the grandson.
Fortunately, there was no financial damage here either.
In all four cases, the victims reported that the caller answered with an unknown telephone number and spoke without any significant dialect or accent.
