49.7 in Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and 47.6 in Freiburg – the 7-day incidence of the districts is approaching the hotspot threshold of 50. In the health department, five soldiers help track contacts.
The Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district is about to become a corona hotspot. On Monday, the 7-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants and week was 49.7 and thus only slightly below the critical threshold of 50. If there had been one more registered corona case in the past week, the district would already have been over the hotspot threshold. The city of Freiburg is also about to exceed this: In the city, the value is 47.6.
Should the value of 50 be exceeded, the city and rural district could take further and more stringent measures, such as Stuttgart has already done with a nocturnal alcohol ban. A night curfew would also be possible.
Visit stop in the Helioskliniken in the district
A new corona regulation in the country has been in force since Monday. This stipulates, among other things, an extended mask requirement – for example in pedestrian zones – and restriction of private meetings and gatherings to 10 people or 2 households. Events are limited to 100 participants.
In view of the renewed sharp rise in the number of infections in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, the Helios clinics in Mllheim, Breisach and Titisee-Neustadt will again stop visiting from Tuesday. “Only in exceptional cases can a patient receive a visitor with a special arrangement and after prior agreement by telephone,” says a press release. “I am very aware of how difficult it is to deny people visits to sick relatives. We take these measures to protect our patients and employees as well as possible from the transmission of infectious diseases,” says clinic director Beatrice Palausch. Every patient who enters the clinic is again measured contactlessly with a fever.
In the heart center in Bad Krozingen, no visit stop was planned on Monday afternoon, as press spokesman Benjamin Waschow announced. As already decided in spring, a visit is not easily possible. Inpatients can name two contact persons they can visit. Only one of these is allowed to visit each day.
Soldiers help in the health department
Five soldiers from the German-French Brigade from Mllheim are now helping in the health department to track contacts with corona infected people. The Corona crisis team is still in contact with the Bundeswehr. “If necessary, we will get more strength from there,” says the press spokesman for the district office, Matthias Fetterer. In addition, there was occasional support from the paramedics of the German Life Rescue Society, the mountain rescue service and the Maltese relief service.
The soldiers are logisticians. “The brigade currently has 626 soldiers in reserve with different call times with which we can support the fight against the spread of the coronavirus,” said press officer Markus Bayer on Monday afternoon. Six soldiers from the supply battalion from Mllheim are also deployed in Offenburg. The hunter battalion from Donaueschingen, which is also part of the brigade, is helping with 60 soldiers in Stuttgart in tracing contacts with corona infected people. Soldiers from the brigade are also active in Balingen and Esslingen.
Healthy fathers can accompany pregnant women
The Helios clinics in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district have issued a visit freeze. Patients may only be visited if there are exceptions. The in-house doctor’s offices will remain open to patients. Bringing mothers can be accompanied by a healthy person who does not change with increased safety. Patients who go to the emergency department or the emergency room in the clinics can also be accompanied by a maximum of one person. Children are not allowed to accompany them, but will continue to be treated as patients. Relatives who want to bring laundry or other personal items to hospitalized patients can hand them in at the reception desk, labeled. Access is not permitted in the event of symptoms.-
