The 37th Bambini Run on Friday (July 15, 2022) was a complete success! Thanks to the numerous registrations, the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau was able to donate the impressive amount of 1,200 euros to the Emmendingen child protection association last Friday. Traditionally, the Sparkasse donates one euro to a good cause for every participating child.
The running event for children up to the age of 10 took place for the 37th time after a two-year Corona break. The savings bank invited all children and their families to the ZMF site. Around 1,000 young athletes accepted the invitation. They were accompanied on the 1,200 meter lap by runners from the Freiburg USC athletics relay team and two players from SC Freiburg.
For more than 30 years, the Sparkasse has been organizing the Bambini Run, which is now also nationally known, with the support of many volunteers. The route runs over the grounds of the Freiburg tent music festival and through parts of the Freiburg animal park Mundenhof. The focus is on having fun with sport and exercise. There is no rating, all children who cross the finish line are winners and receive the coveted Bambinilauf T-shirt as a souvenir.
