Freiburg: 30 November: Presentation of the book on the places of medieval Freiburg – the work is the result of the lecture series “Auf Jahr und Tag” – event in the Münsterblick hall of the Sparkasse

Places in medieval Freiburg: This was the topic of the current event series “Auf Jahr und Tag”, a joint effort of various historical research institutes, including the city archive. The book documenting the lessons is now being released just in time for Christmas. It will be presented by the editors Heinz Krieg, Johanna Regnath, Heinrich Schwendemann, Hans-Peter Widmann, Stephanie Zumrink and Torang Sinaga on Wednesday 30 November, at 18:15. The event will take place in the Münsterblick hall on the Sparkasse (Kaiser-Joseph-Straße 186-190) and Sabine Wehrle will accompany the evening with harp music.

The authors give a competent and readable insight into the history of selected places in Freiburg – as well as those that have since disappeared, known as the Schlossberg, the Minster, the Bächle or the historic department store. In this way, readers learn where the university used to be and that the courthouse is not the medieval courthouse at all. The book and the book presentation stem from the tried and tested cooperation between the Regional History Department of the Historical Seminary of the University of Freiburg, the Alemannic Institute Freiburg, the Landesverein Baden Heimat, the Breisgau Historical Society Schauinsland, the Stadtarchiv Freiburg and the Münsterbauverein of Freiburg.

If you order it in advance or buy it on the evening of the event, the book costs 24 instead of 26 euros. If you would like to participate, you can register by sending an email to [email protected].
