Genre: award ceremony

The gala night of sport is the social event of Freiburg sports where the best athletes in the city are honored.

The gala in the Konzerthaus is a mixture of show, get-together, honors and a lavish dance festival.

After the cancellation of the 2020 event, the city of Freiburg and the Freiburg sports district will choose the virtual variant for the annual event for the first time on Saturday, March 13, 2021. The highlights are the awarding of the sports medals in 2019 and 2020, the award of the elite students of the sport and the proclamation “Athlete / Team of the Year 2019”. The evening also offers interesting interviews with people involved in Freiburg sports and an insight into the sports city of Freiburg in the 2020 corona year.

The voice of South Baden leads through the program: Julica Goldschmidt.

It’s definitely worth watching. With a little luck you can even win a prize yourself.

Freiburg Jazz Choir:

Sun, 14.03.2021 | 8:00 p.m.
Live from the Jazzhaus Freiburg
https://www.infreiburgzuhause.de
Genre: Jazz
Musical director: Bertrand Gröger

From airy depths to glistening heights, a melody like a ray! The Freiburg Jazz Choir turns music into a natural event. The top ensemble founded by Bertrand Gröger in 1990 sings what nobody else sings. The Freiburg Jazz Choir has stood for outstanding quality and innovation for decades. Important awards such as 1st prize at the Choir Olympics in Korea 2002 and CD productions such as “Schwing!” Or “Live in Japan” made the choir, which has worked with greats such as Bobby McFerrin and the Swingle Singers, national at an early stage and internationally known.

With its new program “Infusion” the jazz choir dares to do something unheard of. Instrumental numbers from the Fusion era by Pat Metheny, Joe Zawinul, Herbie Hancock, Esbjörn Svensson and Chick Corea were written for the versatile ensemble with texts and complex, sensual arrangements.

The experienced backing band provides the necessary flow with piano, bass and drums. This infusion is addicting.
