Libreville, Thursday October 5, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – By receiving Gabon Media Time journalists this Thursday after their custody at the Directorate General of Research, the Minister of New Technologies, Information and Communication, government spokesperson, wanted to calm the actors of the sector and opinion.

AThe day after their release after several hours of police custody at the Directorate General of Research, the Minister of New Technologies, Information and Communication, government spokesperson, received in audience the colleagues of the online media, Gabon Media Time. Laurence Ndong wanted to reassure her hosts of the determination of the highest Gabonese authorities to promote and guarantee freedom of expression.

At the end of the hearing, Laurence Ndong expressed this in a post on his Facebook page. “Today I received Mr. Harold Léckat and his colleagues at my office, following their release, after several hours in custody at the Directorate General of Research. I wanted to assure them of the firm desire of the new Gabonese authorities to promote press freedom and to reaffirm to them the idea that the decriminalization of press offenses in Gabon is not a figment of the imagination.”

Subsequently, she also spoke with several press bosses who came to express their solidarity with their colleagues as well as their concerns, in the face of what they considered to be a breach of the authority of the High Authority of Communication. “The Publication Director of Gabon Média Time, as well as his colleagues at OPAM, were kind enough to pose for posterity,” she rejoiced.
