The 200th anniversary of the birth of Sándor Petőfi was commemorated with numerous large-scale events, a series of exhibitions, and concerts throughout the country. We know from our studies – formulated – that Vác played an important role in Petőfi’s life.
His parents lived here for a while, his poem “My Mother’s Hen” was written here, his poem “Vasúton on the Railway” was inspired by traveling here by train, i.e. commuting on the country’s first railway line, the line between Budapest and Vác, but it is also known that he and his wife, Júlia Szendrey, wrote several had a nice day in the city. So we can say that we also have a part of Petőfi’s life; Petőfi’s oeuvre would not be complete without the above events.
Fit is important to be proud of having a poetic giant – he continued, – whose poems are known in many parts of the world. Who, as a genius of a Hungarian nation of 15 million, was able to deliver world-renowned performance. As shown by two recent Hungarian Nobel laureates, people with similar abilities still live among us today.
Now, on this stage, a play is coming to life that would hold its own on any stage in the world.
Poems, and even more musical poems – he turned to the young people, – they help us express everything that we could not express in our own words.
Even as young people, we can live in many different life situations. The poem helps us understand these situations and bring the emotions to the surface.
The Petőfi 200 commemorative year was also organized so that we can relive Petőfi’s poetry and incorporate (his values and lessons) into our own lives.
We are trying to make our past alive!”
In the end, the representative thanked all the artists and organizers who staged the performance and helped it to reach the Vác (Vác area) audience.
