Alpine rescue intervention in the afternoon on Small Dolomites to bring help to a freeclimber of Santorso was injured after flying from one climbing wall: for man, of 44 years old, fortunately only medium-sized wounds.
The alarm went off at about 3.30 pm, when the Schio Mountain Rescue was alerted by the Suem power station: the athlete found herself with a friend in the Piccole Dolomiti crag on the Cornetto, in the Sengio Alto group. The man was climbing when he fell to the ground, bringing back a probable ankle trauma. Reached by a team that gave him first aid, the injured person was loaded on a stretcher and transported to the road, before being accompanied to the hospital in Santorso.
The climbing wall of Mount Cornetto is a cliff equipped by the instructors of the local Piccole Dolomiti mountaineering school of Cai di Schio. Located along the foothills of Monte Cornetto, it is located at 1300 meters above sea level. It includes some easy routes, also suitable for beginners, but there are 29 different routes aided, with difficulty from IV to VII degree.
