In the past two years, the traffic experts at the Mettmann district police authority have offered owners of mobile homes and caravans a special kind of service: In order to point out overloads and load safety, traffic service employees weighed the vehicles in the parking lot of the Mettmann district police authority.
Numerous visitors had their vehicles weighed on the axle load scales set up by the officials and at the same time received valuable tips and information on correct load securing. Unfortunately, the vehicles are often overloaded faster than expected, especially since the maximum permissible payload is usually quickly reached by filled water tanks, gas bottles and personal luggage.
The free campaign will also take place at the start of the mobile home and caravan season this year.

On Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., interested parties can have their motorhome or caravan combination weighed in the Mettmann district police car park at Adalbert-Bach-Platz 1 in 40822 Mettmann.
Please bring your registration certificate Part I (vehicle registration) for the towing vehicle and trailer or mobile home with you.
The free weighing is used for prevention and information – detected overloads will not be punished within the framework of the event, but reloading would have to take place if the limit was exceeded.
Since campers also like to be mobile in their holiday home and therefore don’t want to do without their bicycles or pedelecs, traffic accident prevention experts will also be present to give tips on handling and load securing.
