Starting from Monday 26 and until October 1, the free vaccination campaign for dogs and cats will be carried out in a total of 53 participating veterinarians in different parts of the province.
Through the provincial department of zoonoses, the Jujuy Ministry of Health has highlighted that an intense week of work will be held in the province as part of the World Rabies Day, which is commemorated every 28 September.
On this occasion, free pet vaccination will take place in 53 participating veterinary centers in San Salvador de Jujuy, Libertador, La Mendieta, Palpalá, El Carmen, Los Alisos, Perico, San Pedro and Yuto.
Each year, anger in humans causes the death of about 60,000 people worldwide, one every nine minutes. The most important source of rabies in humans in the world is uncontrolled rabies in animals, with girls and boys being the group most at risk, so the only way to minimize the possibility of infection through dog bites and cats is vaccination and adequate monitoring of pets, prevention education and assured access to immediate medical care in the event of a bite.
In this campaign, the health portfolio relaunches joint action with Jujuy veterinary professionals who will adhere to the application of the rabies vaccine throughout the week, for which it is required to go to the closest veterinarian to the home, arranging the respective measures safety for the transfer of animals.
