A check mark will appear on the boxes of selected PlayStation 4 games that will inform the buyer whether to wait for a free product update for PS5.
One of the first such games will be Immortals: Fenyx Rising. However, it is not yet clear whether the markings will appear on the boxes of all PS4 games with a free update, but it is likely and logical. It is possible that this is part of the standard introduced by the manufacturer of the PlayStation platforms.
So far Sony hasn’t revealed exactly how backward compatibility will work on the PS5 and the upgrade process from the old version to the new one. However, the company has confirmed that it has no plans to release its own Smart Delivery program for Xbox devices.
Individual developers and publishers, including Cyberpunk 2077 developers from CD Projekt Red, have confirmed that their new games will receive a free update for the PlayStation 5, just like with consoles.
